Handmade Organic Products

Since 2011 · Chennai, India

Every print tells a
story older than time

At DesiCrafts, we believe that truly beautiful things are made slowly, with intention. Our textiles are born from a centuries-old tradition of hand block printing practised by artisan families across Rajasthan and Gujarat — a craft that cannot be rushed, automated, or mass-produced.

We use only 100% organic cotton, silk, and linen — fabrics that breathe, age gracefully, and leave a lighter footprint on the earth. Our natural fabrics are chosen not just for their brilliance but for their safety: safe for your family, kind to our artisans, and gentle on the waterways they live beside.

Hand Block Printed

Every pattern is carved into teak wood and hand-pressed by master craftspeople — no two prints are ever identical.

Organic Fabrics

We source 100 pct organic cotton, silk, and linen — no synthetic finishes.

Heritage Motifs

Inspired by Indian architecture, Mughal gardens and Rajasthani florals, reimagined for modern homes.

Made to Order

Most pieces are crafted when you order — ensuring freshness, less waste, and the ability to customise.

Faces behind
every fold

A small family of makers, dreamers, and textile obsessives — united by a love for craft and a belief that handmade things matter.

TJ
Smriti has always believed that the spaces we inhabit should tell a story - one rooted in craft, culture, and intention. After a career in advertising and marketing within the software and telecom industries, she followed her truest calling: textiles and lifestyle design. In 2011, she founded DesiCrafts in Chennai, India, and hasn't looked back since. Today, DesiCrafts carries Smriti's fingerprints across an eclectic portfolio - Hollywood sets, live theater, commercial office spaces, and partnerships with independent interior designers worldwide. Her background in branding sharpens every creative decision; her love of craft gives it soul.

Sita
Tripathi
DesiCrafts didn't begin in a boardroom or a design school. It began with Sita Tripathi. To this day, our business entity name is Sita Arts! In the 1960s, when formal design education in India was virtually nonexistent, a young Sita enrolled in Usha Silai School from her village — and stepped into a field where women were rarely welcomed, let alone celebrated. She didn't just survive in that space; she built a business. For decades, she ran a women's apparel enterprise, accumulating the kind of knowledge and craft wisdom that no institution can teach. In the late 2000s, she turned her gaze outward — toward international markets and home furnishing, with an eye that never stopped seeing beauty. The seed of DesiCrafts was planted. From concept to reality, this venture is her vision made tangible.
Bakhtiyar Khan — Master Artisan
Master Artisan · Production Head
Bakhtiyar
Khan
Some people manage craft. Bakhtiyar Khan lives it. He runs the fabric printing workshop from the ground up — commissioning wooden block production, ensuring every pattern meets exact standards, and leading a tight-knit team of hand-block printers. His tools are simple; his results, extraordinary. His is the final word on textile selection, color, and the quality of every piece that goes out the door. And when the day calls for it, Bakhtiyar picks up a block and prints himself. Not out of necessity — out of pure love for the craft. That instinct is what makes him not just a production head, but the soul of the workshop.

These curtains are absolutely beautiful and just as described. I'm using them as a shower curtain — they're perfect. Quick shipping from India to Alaska too! Loved the free samples of their other designs.

Ordered these for a large window and I just love them. The print is lovely and the fabric still allows some light to pass through. Shopping took a while to the US, but absolutely worth the wait.

Beautiful curtains, well made and came in a timely manner with great customer service. The colours are even richer in person than in the photographs. Will definitely reorder.

The curtains are so beautiful! The block printing has a wonderful imperfection to it that makes each panel feel truly unique and handmade. Exactly what I was hoping for.

I bought the napkins as a gift and they were a huge hit. Packaged beautifully, arrived faster than expected, and the fabric is wonderfully soft. This is what artisan shopping should feel like.

"When you bring one of our textiles into your home, you are also bringing in the hands, the patience, and the pride of the artisan who made it."
